Benefits of MAWP Membership

MAWP's network in the law enforcement community offers you personal and professional contacts. These invaluable contacts will assist you in career enhancement, skill strengthening, legal remedies, and personal enrichment. MAWP mentoring opportunities benefit both mentors and those they mentor.

Each spring the MAWP annual training conference provides opportunities for you to earn Minnesota P.O.S.T. credits by participation in some of the finest workshops, seminars and training offered.

As a member you will receive a comprehensive and informative quarterly newsletter with training information, legislative updates, and both current and historical police news.

MAWP holds an annual awards ceremony. Minnesota's finest women peace officers are recognized for Officer of the Year, Valorous acts, Leadership, Community Service, and Excellence.

MAWP participates in and promotes ethical and non-discriminatory practices by all members and their organizations.

Student members are eligible for the Karen Rice Memorial Scholarship which provides financial assistance for law enforcement training.

Membership Categories
and Yearly Membership Fees

ACTIVE ($30): All full-time law enforcement officers with power of arrest who are paid by public funds.

ASSOCIATE ($25): All retired and part-time officers paid by public funds, and any person who by training, experience, or other professional attainments in law enforcement, including persons publicly employed in other areas of law enforcement and persons privately employed as security officers.

SUSTAINING ($25): Any individual or group interested in fostering the aims and objectives of the MAWP.

STUDENT ($20): Any student enrolled in a law enforcement program.
